Email signature CTAs that get clicked

A signature CTA has a smaller audience than an ad and a smaller footprint than a landing page — but the audience already opened the email and knows your name. Twenty-four CTAs below, grouped by role, with a note on why each one works.

Sales

Book a 20-min call →

Time cap ('20 min') halves the friction of clicking. Point to a personal calendar, not a form.

See pricing →

The signature is where mid-funnel replies happen. Pricing is what's on their mind.

Watch a 3-min demo →

The 'no meeting required' version. Works for prospects who aren't ready to book.

Case study: [company like theirs] →

Best for named-account outbound. Swap the case study by segment.

Marketing

New report: [specific finding] →

The specific finding matters — 'State of X 2026' beats 'download our report'.

Webinar Nov 12: [named speaker] on [topic] →

Time-bounded banners get clicked at 2–3× the rate of evergreen ones.

This month's newsletter →

Best for content-heavy brands. Rotate the topic monthly.

Free tool: [thing that solves one small problem] →

Tools convert better than PDFs. Wren's own calendar-CTA generator is a good example.

Customer success

What's new in [product] v4.2 →

Answers half the questions people email CS to ask. Deflects tickets.

Book a quarterly review →

Personal calendar link. Works for enterprise CSMs quietly filling next quarter.

Join our customer community →

Point at Slack or Discord if you have one. Turns support cost into peer support.

Rate this reply →

One-click CSAT link. The signature is the honest place to ask.

Recruiting

See open roles →

Every rejection reply, every 'not yet' response — this is career-page distribution on autopilot.

Refer a friend, earn $2,000 →

Referral bounty inside the signature outperforms internal Slack posts.

What it's like to work here →

Point at a Notion or blog post, not the careers landing page. More clicks.

Meet the [Engineering / Design / GTM] team →

Segment the CTA by role you're recruiting for that week.

Founder / exec

Our seed announcement →

For the 3 months after any fundraise or milestone — free earned attention in every reply.

What I'm reading this month →

Founder-brand play. Points at a personal newsletter or public reading list.

We're hiring: [specific role] →

Founders reply to hundreds of emails a week. The signature is the highest-leverage recruiting channel they have.

Book 15 min with me →

Rare, deliberate, converts. Only if you actually want the meetings.

Support / operations

Help centre →

Deflects the 'how do I…' replies before they hit your queue.

Report a bug →

Direct link to the bug form beats 'please email support again'.

System status →

Especially for teams that own uptime. Cuts inbound during incidents.

Feature requests →

Points at your public roadmap or Canny board. Turns support into product signal.

Run the same CTA across a whole team

The math changes when 30 people all run the same CTA in the same window. Wren lets you push one CTA banner across every signature and swap it out on a date — with per-person click tracking so you know which segment converts.

Common questions

How many CTAs should a signature have?

One. Two if you must — a permanent one (like 'book a call') and a rotating banner (like 'new report'). More than that and click-through collapses because nothing looks primary.

What's a realistic click-through rate?

For a well-targeted CTA on a real business email, 0.5%–1.5% is normal. A 30-person team sending 300 emails each per month at 1% click-through is around 900 warm clicks a month — from a channel that costs nothing extra.

How do I measure signature CTA clicks?

The link needs a tracking parameter. Wren wraps every signature link so clicks show up in the analytics dashboard by campaign and by sender — without breaking the underlying URL.

Should the CTA change every week?

No. A CTA needs at least three or four weeks to build up meaningful click data. Change it when the underlying offer changes, not on a schedule.
