Common questions

Should a nonprofit signature include a donate button?

If donations are core to your funding, yes — a small 'Donate' button converts better than a text link. Keep it as one button, not two, and reuse the same URL as your website's primary donate page.

Is it okay to include EIN or registered-charity numbers?

In some regions donors expect it (US 501(c)(3), UK registered charity number, AU ABN). Add it below the signature in small text — it also signals legitimacy on cold outreach.

Can I link social channels?

One or two — the ones you actually update. An abandoned Facebook page linked in a signature is worse than none at all.
